Biography
Vivienne Zhao joined Lazard in 2015 and was in the Industrials group in New York prior to moving to the
Interactive Media & Technologies group in Los Angeles. While at Lazard, Vivienne has focused on a wide
range of M&A and other strategic advisory assignments.
Recent notable M&A transactions include advising Ferro Corporation on its sale to a portfolio company of
American Securities, Ferro Corporation on the divestiture of its Tile Coatings business to a
portfolio company of Lone Star Funds, Innophos on its sale to One Rock Capital in a go-private
transaction, Versum Materials on its sale to Merck KGaA subsequent to proposed merger of equals
transaction with Entegris and hostile defense from Merck KGaA, Odebrecht on its proposed sale of stake
in Braskem to LyondellBasell, Dow Chemical’s merger of equals transaction with DuPont, Innophos’
acquisitions of Novel Ingredients and Nutragenesis, sale of Air Products’ Performance Materials Division
to Evonik, WL Ross Holding Corp. acquisition of Nexeo Solutions and Air Products’ attempted acquisition
of Yingde Gases, among others.
Recent interactive media experience includes advising Bungie on its sale to Sony Interactive
Entertainment, SciPlay’s special committee on its takeover proposal from Scientific Games and Huuuge’s
special committee on its strategic options review.
Prior to joining Lazard, Vivienne was an economic consultant.
She holds an A.B. in Economics and Mathematics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A from The
Wharton School.
