Biography

Since founding dj2 Entertainment in 2011, under Dmitri’s guidance as CEO, dj2 has assembled a diverse international slate of television and feature projects, carving out a specific niche as the premier production company specializing in adapting videogames for linear media formats.

dj2’s first major theatrical release, 2020’s live action/CG-hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog, based on Sega’s flagship mascot franchise, broke box office records; superseded only by its sequel, 2022’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which just secured the highest opening weekend of all time for a videogame adaptation. dj2 is also producing live-action feature-film adaptations of the 2021 Game of the Year, It Takes Two, from developer Hazelight (with Sonic writers Pat Casey & Josh Miller), Sega’s Toe Jam & Earl, Square-Enix’s Sleeping Dogs with Donnie Yen, and Coyote Blue, a new action-thriller from Derek Kolstad (Nobody, John Wick), with Sterling K. Brown set to star.

On the television side, dj2 is executive producing several premium television-series, including an in-production adaptation of Square-Enix/Crystal Dynamics’ iconic Tomb Raider: Lara Croft with Legendary Television for Netflix; Square-Enix’s BAFTA and Peabody award winning game, Life is Strange with Legendary Television and Anonymous Content, 2019’s Game of the Year ZA/UM’s Disco Elysium and Tribeca Festival Game Award Winner, Geography of Robot’s Norco.

dj2 is currently in a 1st look television deal with Amazon Studios, and 2nd look television deal with Legendary Television.
