Biography
Tony leads product at Decentraland, a VR platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Decentraland’s LAND is one of the first widely used non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and remains one of the most actively transacted (with parcels trading at prices over $150K). The Decentraland SDK allows developers to build games and experiences on top of Decentraland, allowing players to interact with their games in a decentralized VR environment.
Previously, Tony built machine learning products at Google that identified content that was unsafe for users and advertisers. Before that, he was a product manager at AltspaceVR (acquired by Microsoft), one of the most widely played early experiments with social VR. He started his career as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company and graduated from Amherst College with degrees in Neuroscience and English. He writes regularly about crypto, games, and product development at tonysheng.com.
